I worked as a software developer at GDMSC for the Maritime Helicopter Project, writing code for the missions systems found on the CH-148 Cyclone aircraft. I learned how to take descriptions of a desired feature and implement a solution for them, ensuring they met their engineering requirements. All my work was thoroughly reviewed to be qualified as airworthy, and by the end of my experience I also was responsible for reviewing the code of other developers at times. I collaborated with my peers to bring goals from being an idea to a tangible reality, and work as a team to break complex problems into feasible chunks.  I came out of this experience able to develop software of professional grade, to the level where it is now ran aboard aircrafts flown frequently around the world.

Artech Camps

At Artech Camps I was responsible for both designing and teaching courses covering programming, game development, artificial intelligence, and 3D modeling/animation. This experience taught me to explain concepts at various levels of complexity as I had to ensure youth would be able to understand it. I also had to effectively manage my time as I was required to independently plan out courses, develop their demo programs/games, and break them down into individual lesson plans. I also learned to maintain a professional appearance as I always aimed to be energetic and engaging for the sake of the students as I did not want to allow my personal life to impact the quality of education they received.
